To see my most recent work check out the blog post below.

I write a lot of my stories as serial stories using prompts. I have many different stories, the longest one is 50 parts if I am not mistaken. My current one is here and still in progress. You can use this post to start with part one and work your way through and then go directly to that blog and continue it.

This blog contains several serial stories and I used a lot of them in varying sizes in my very first novel which will eventually go online on the newest blog http://www.tessadeanauthor.com and then if I continue writing novels as a series I have several longer serial stories on that same blog as that is the one I update all the time. I don’t update this one very often. Those serial stories contain the middle of a possible novel and need both a beginning and an end. As most prompt sites request family-friendly work I will be updating those stories to murder or mystery stories and definitely on the dark side. So you can see why these aren’t quite as dark as they could be. I don’t go into much detail. Book One/Intro To The Possible Series is not a dark murder mystery as I am just getting used to writing that genre and I don’t think I know enough to make it a psychological thriller/murder/suspense story.

Well I kind of hit the wall when it comes to posting everything to 3 blogs – all creative writing is now on www.tessadeanauthor.com

Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

New Author’s Blog – tessadeanauthor.com

I made a mistake in the website name in the title. This shouldn’t be a problem if you use the link I provided to go to the new blog. I fixed the title. I am getting confused with all these changes on here and on social media. Today I forgot what my current legal name is. Too much at one time.

I am in the process of setting up a new author website www.tessadeanauthor.com where I will be slowly moving my writing over to it rather than half on two other websites. I know I have followers on each and some that follow both so getting this site to fully function could take a while plus it is not a free website. I actually paid for a premium site with no ads and other features. It is harder to learn and to post to. I am struggling with that right now.

This blog is very easy to post to, but the new one and the editor sucks. I am still using the very first one they had when I started these other two blogs and one of them is 10 years old although I deleted or reposted a lot of the older stuff so the dates are no longer there from when I first started it, I know it was in 2010. I only use that newer editor if I have to re-edit on the fly. Now they say there is a new one coming and the one on this new blog is already difficult to deal with. Perhaps I should have just stayed with the free blog. I don’t know. I am trying to make it more professional. Some day I just might decide to publish and then I would have a sort of writer’s platform set up.

In the beginning, I might try to post on all 3 blogs, but not sure how long I can keep that up. If you could please follow the new one then the move will be much easier. Thanks to whoever has seen this.

Midnight Hours – a poem

Midnight Hours

written by Teresa Dean Smeigh 2015

The surreal darkness of the midnight hours.

Different rooms from the day time.

Shadows changing, stretching

Reaching out for me.

~~~~~~
Once known faces, different, scary.
Touches from those once alive.
I try to wake up, the evil is writhing.
The light scares them away again.
~~~~~~

I want my mother to comfort me.

Hug the dream monsters away.

I have to accept her comfort from Heaven

Because she is no longer here for me.

I am adopting a pen name for my writing.

I have decided to use a pen name for my writing. I am using Tessa Dean. My past writing was under Teresa Dean Smeigh in most circumstances.

My youtube video on this is:

I have a lot of work to do and am still deciding if I will start a new blog for my new name.  I use Tessa on WordPress and have since the beginning roughly 10 years ago and I use my maiden name in my name for my writing and now I will just use my pen name.

A Mother’s Love – Poem

A Mother’s Love – by Tessa Dean (2015)

Mother I feel your love

surrounding me now.

Is it my thoughts of you

that bring you forth to

comfort me?

I still miss you, you know?

I miss our talks and your

great wisdom.

You were my best friend,

you brushed away my tears with

a gentle touch.

You helped me through

the rough spots.

Mother I feel your love

surrounding me now.

Fathers and Daughters…Non-fiction

I don’t know about others, but my father has always terrified me. Even as a full grown grandmom, he still scares me. I live in his house and he is my father and I am the daughter. The dynamic is still there on both of our parts. He tells me what to do as if I am still a little child and since he is always confused and forgets I get the same sermon time after time. Now I can’t blame the man completely since he is 83 years old, but still it aggravates the hell out of me. Getting mad at him and yelling back does nothing because he forgets it.

Now one that is really getting on my nerves is the fact that I have sensitive eyes and can’t read in bright light. It was the same way when I was a child. I understand this is part of the Fibromyalgia. All my childhood I got yelled at for not putting on enough light in his eyes.

Now I get nastily, “You know you can put that light on. I shouldn’t have to tell you.”

I tell him, “Dad it is just enough light for me, my eyes are sensitive to bright light and hurt.”

Now sometimes he doesn’t even REMIND me he just turns the light on high.

We do this game over and over again.  I finally stopped reading downstairs where he is because I was about to go ballistic on him.

Kicked out of Class (non-fiction)

Kicked out of Class – by Tessa Dean

I have mentioned before that I was a goody-two-shoes most of the time, but there were times when you had to watch out. I think now after all this time that I was in a manic phase when I would act out. Otherwise I was pretty quiet, but there were times when I had no control over my actions.

Now you might have read my kindergarten story of my stubbornness and acting out. Well this one is when I was older and involved my sibling.

In high school we both took a German course. My sibling just went along with it, but I was disturbed that we weren’t learning anything just memorizing for a test. I started acting out and talking all through the class. The teacher would constantly ask me to be quiet. Then she would move me. So I would get up and walk across the room and slam my books on the desk.

After several days of this the teacher called my mom and said I have a problem with Tessa.  My mom said you have to be wrong she is the good one. The teacher said no it was definitely Tessa and told her what I did. I did get yelled at for doing it, but my mom asked her why she didn’t just move the other person if I was always doing that? Good point!

The Doll of Horror – Flash Fiction Challenge

doll-626790_1920

The Doll of Horror!

Written by Teresa Dean Smeigh

copyright October 2015

The doll was as big as the child.

Dressed alike they looked so wild.

You would never know the doll beguiled

Until you saw her fake smile reviled.

She sat on a shelf made just for her.

She waited patiently, an ambusher.

With her hammer she became a basher.

The hammer made her even brasher.

She snuck into the parents room.

The room was dark and full of gloom.

She was quick and started to zoom.

Dressed in her masquerade costume.

She bashed their heads in slickly.

For a doll she moved ever so quickly.

She was covered in blood thickly.

She didn’t feel the least bit prickly.

Rules:

You challenge this week is to write a descriptive paragraph. I want to know the details of some scary scene fit for Halloween. The gory, gruesome, morbid details of something terrifying. I’m twisted like that. This week doesn’t have to be something appropriate for all ages if you don’t want it to be. I do ask, though, that you make your paragraph 100 words or more, just to dive into the more minute details of what you are trying to describe to your readers.

You have until noon (PST) on Friday, October 23rd

Write the paragraph and post it on your blog, website, whatever you use to share your writing online and comment with a link to it here on this post so that everyone can find it. This is also open to anyone who wants to create a poem rather than a story. So if you’re more a poet than a storyteller, feel free to join in as well.
